Most people associate public transportation with big cities, but in Covington County, AL, a full-service bus system is in place to transport residents wherever they need to go. Covington Area Transit System (CATS) is a safe, reliable, and affordable means of public transportation. Available to all, it provides transportation in and around the city of Andalusia, AL, as well as all around Covington County, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Covington County Economic Development Commission takes pride in the local impact of CATS, which has increased convenience and quality of life for the region’s population since 1992. Whether it’s to go shopping, pay a bill, visit a friend or make it to a doctor’s appointment, CATS gets the people of Covington County from point A to point B.

In the event of cancellations, please call 334-428-2667 as soon as possible. There is no penalty for cancellations, but scheduled transit rides not cancelled in a timely manner will be deemed no-shows. Similarly, riders who fail to board the vehicle within the 30-minute time frame will also be listed as no-shows. Repeated no-shows will result in suspension of CATS services.
