Alabama Manufacturer Wins $48 Million Contract for Marine Uniforms

American Apparel has been awarded a $48 million contract for five years to manufacture combat utility uniforms for the Marine Corps, according to the Andalusia Star-News.
The company will make the trousers at its Opp location and the tops in Selma. It also has a plant Centre.
Founded in 1987, American Apparel manufactures uniforms for all branches of the military.
It currently employs 250 people, but with this new contract, American Apparel plans to hire 10 full-time employees.
